How to Network Market: Creating a Network Marketing Dream Team

How to Network Market: Creating a Network Marketing Dream TeamWhen figuring out how to network market, most people just make a list of their warm market and start calling everyone. They will sponsor anyone and everyone with no regard to abilities or qualities. Some of these people we already sense won’t do well because they aren’t coach-able, but we sponsor them anyway. I am not saying this is necessarily wrong. It might just be an inevitable experience we need to go through. Besides that, it helps us hone our skills in sales. As long as we get through this stage and don’t quit, the next stage is to develop a good method (or several) of generating leads for our business. If we figure this out, then we can start developing a team of leaders- better yet, a team of leaders that complement each other. Napoleon Hill would call it a mastermind group.

One of the strongest advantages of a network marketing, as opposed to being self employed, is the team concept- the mastermind idea. If built right, people can rally together for a common goal. Building a good team will make your business work in a synergistic way. Since most of my life I have been self employed, this skill has not come easy to me. In order to have a business that is truly sustaining residual income, and that can survive the inevitable challenges that happen, you need a strong team.

If you are just beginning, you can develop that team. If you have a nice size group, you can bring together your leaders and start really working together for a common goal.

  1. Find people that complement each other- In a team, you don’t want people working together just because they get along or because they are the same. You want people that can be productive together and are synergistic.
  2. Create a common goal- All team members should have the same basic goal and team purpose.
  3. Create a code of honor- To create a code of honor is a main emphasis of a great book on business teams in the Rich Dad Poor Dad series of books. It is called The ABC’s of Building a Business Team That Wins, by Blair Singer. One of his statements is, “In the absence of rules people make their own.” This also leads to my next point.
  4. Have clear, comprehensive communication- In order to have a great team, you need to have great communication. I am not talking about phones that are networked. I am talking about the way you communicate. Are you precise and complete with your instructions? Do you make sure that any questions that might come up are already answered? Do you realize that these people do not work for you, they work for themselves in this team?
  5. Team competitions- Team competition combined with cooperative learning is the ultimate in team dynamics. This is where I am right now. These last two points came from me listening to Mark Hoverson’s “Irresistible Info-Marketing Blueprint” (not available at the time of this article.)

At the time of this writing, I am rallying one of my teams into a little friendly competition. I will give you the results in a couple of months. If you would like to become part of our team leave you name, email and phone number in the box to the right.

How To Network Market: Stop- Before you buy any Leads!

How To Network Market: Stop Before you buy any Leads!Whether you claim to be doing network marketing or multi-level marketing, your business is about leads. I know some people, especially in my company, that believe that they can succeed with just a few leads. It took me a while to realize that without leads nothing happens in network marketing. Leads are the lifeblood of your business.

When I first started in Network Marketing, I did what everyone does. I made a list of my warm market, planned a course of action with my up-line, and started calling them. By the end of two weeks I was activated and ready to make money. But now what? I had gone through my list and had no more leads. That meant that I had all my hopes and dreams dependent on the two people that I had sponsored to go through their warm market, and so on and so forth. Network Marketing does not work that way. You have to live by example. You have to sponsor people, and in order to sponsor people, you have to generate leads. So out of desperation I picked up the phone book and started calling businesses. Actually it was a big joke between me and my senior partner. My names list was huge, and after several weeks of that not working, we decided to go out and visit the businesses. It would be harder for them to say no if they saw our bright shiny faces, determination and genius (LOL). And although we did end up sponsoring people, our cost per distributor was negative. So out of desperation we turned to buying leads, and I’ll share with you what I learned. (I have not bought any more leads lately as I am learning to develop my own qualified leads.) But for those that are in the market to buy leads, here is some advice:

  1. They don’t know how you got their number, and some of them are even nervous that you have it, as if you were a mass murderer that was going to assault them over the phone.
  2. Realize that there is a lot of hype involved with the companies that sell you the “qualified leads.” Most of the leads probably filled out a survey to get a free Ipad (or some other scam offer that these companies use.) I have bought leads from many different companies. Leads that cost $5 each and leads that cost 25 cents each and they all seemed to be the same.
  3. Expect lots of rejection- I have had countless numbers of phones hung up in my ear.
  4. Expect that most of them will be unemployed or on disability.
  5. Most people that say they will call you back won’t. Many people that make appointments cancel. Some people will stand you up no matter how much posture you have. It’s all par for the course. It’s the nature of the beast.

But all is not lost! It’s a numbers game. I have sponsored people from bought leads that I still work with today, and they have led me to some incredible distributors. So just do it!

  1. Be forewarned- the above is just to prepare you. The people that are selling you the leads want you to think that they are all roses, but they don’t tell you that some roses can have some big thorns.
  2. There is no perfect script, just perfect attitude. It’s all about your mindset.
  3. Are you prepared for the rejections? You need to be able to recover quickly and move on. Let it roll off you. Learn from your mistakes, and move on.
  4. You are interviewing them for your business, not the other way around.
  5. It’s your call, so own it.
  6. Have a goal in mind, but don’t stay attached to the outcome.

If you are planning on buying leads consider developing your own system so that you are building leads that are interested in what you have. In order to do this you need the right system.
